You either like it or you don't (and it isn't marmite!!!)

Hola Lexicans! Today is another book review *cheers*, and this one, as you can probably tell from the title is a like-dislike kind of book, that I'm sure you've all heard of. IT IS.... Divergent by Veronica Roth!!

I'd heard so much about this book - I had been needing it for about a year, and then FINALLY I got my hands on a copy.

Beatrice (Tris) lives in a dystopian world were everyone is divided in 5 factions - more important than anything in her world even with 'faction before blood'. There's Erudite (the intelligent), Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave) and Amity (the kind). When one enters adulthood, they must choose a faction to devote the rest of their lives to. Now its Tris' turn and she has to make a decision that will literally change her life...

I have to admit, this doesn't sound like the most exciting book, but with all the hype I just had to check it out. And I'm extremely glad I did! It gripped me from the start, with poignant characters, that I really felt, particularly Tris. I'm reading Insurgent now, even though my best friend JE just told me the ending! You really can't put it down, and its very different to any book I've read before (although people say it is a lot like The Hunger Games, another book I need to read)!

Overall I would definitely recommend this to people my age, boys and girls alike, especially those who like a good dystopian. I think I'd choose to be in the Erudite faction, what about you?

  1. That's very true, I've been hearing a lot about this book from one of my friend, she like in love with the book and now I've finally got the book. I've finished almost more than half of it in one day. It may not be the most exciting and the best book but it's nice.
