A Little Book Star

Hola Lexicans! Recently one of my favourite authors, Jacqueline Wilson (who actually was the one who inspired me to start writing) released yet another book (in a good way, obviously). It's actually a sequel to the ever popular Hetty Feather series, so there's now been Hetty Feather, Sapphire Battersea, Emerald Star, Diamond and the latest addition - Little Stars.

Hetty/Sapphire/Emerald (I think I'm just going to call her by Emerald for this review) and Diamond have run away from the dreaded circus to start over. They plan to become music-hall artistes, little do they know the world of music-hall's and acting may be slightly different to what they think.

Because of the amazing books Jacqueline Wilson has written in the past, I had some very high expecatations for Little Stars, and it didn't disappoint. As I put as the title of this post, this is A Little Book Star, you could even call it a real Jem of a book, a Diamond even. (Only people who have read this series will really get these word puns, haha!) I read this with in a few days, it's quite an easy read for my age, because it was really gripping. I think one of the best things about a Jacqueline Wilson book is that she has really nice (or, not so nice) characters that you really feel the bonds grow in, particularly if there are 5 books in the series and I feel Emerald is quite relatable to me, we have a similar personality.

I definitely recommend this to Jacqueline Wilson fans (about 8 - 11 year olds) if they haven't already read it, and if you do think it sounds good (it certainly is) then you can start the series with Hetty Feather.

xxx I'll be back soon with another book review and review of Legoland!

  3. This sounds really cool, I'm actually not a big fan of Jaqueline Wilson's books, ever since I was in primary I thought her books were rubbish and had the same story every time. Best friends. Boyfriends. Girly girls. Normal school life. Ugh

But now you've changed my mind!
