May Favourites

Hola Lexicans! I cannot believe it is the 2nd of June; this year has just flown by. So, as May is over - you know what happens, my May Favourites.

May was our exam month, so we had all our end of year tests last week (even though it's still 2 months until the end of term, what okay) which meant I spent loads and loads some of the month revising.  The actual tests went well too, so I'm quite happy with them. Also, last month I did Maths Challenge, which is a national maths test which is meant to be a challenge *shocker* which only certain people are selected to do, so I was really honoured to be picked. I got my results back recently and I was really pleased with them!

I read quite a bit in May, and there are two books that I read which particularly stuck out for me: Don't Even Think About It (which I reviewed here) and Life On The Refrigerator Door, which I'm sure I will review soon as I loved it. I won't talk too much about DETAI, as I've already posted about that, but LOTRD was absolutely amazing. It's about a mother and daughter who never get any time to have a proper chat any more, so their only communication is through little notes stuck on their fridge door. However, one day Claire reads a message like no other that will change her life. LOTRD is a very poignant and moving book, written through little notes which is definitely unique. One criticism is that I didn't feel too close to the characters, but the plot made up for it.

My favourite post of mine this month was The Truth Behind Blogging, as I think it was really relatable for you guys and it said something that really needed to be said. If you haven't already seen that post you can check it out here. I also spent a lot of time reading blog posts, and a couple of my favourites were: Empathy by Nerd Glasses And Wanderlust and Show Your Scars by Lost In Translation.

Beauty and fashion was good this month as well. I rediscovered my LA Girl Nudes eyeshadow palette, which is has a gorgeous rose gold vibe to it; you get 12 beautiful pinks and golds for just £5.99 ($8.64) and for that price, it's very good quality. It's also very similar to Urban Decay's Naked 3. Also, this month, I got Bobbi Brown's tinted eye brightener, which is perfect for a tween like me. It doesn't give too heavy coverage, but it just brightens the under-eye bags naturally and subtly. On fashion terms, I bought the Adidas Firebird Track Jacket which I'm very pleased with (except it's navy blue and I took the tag off before realizing I could have got a black one).

So that's my May Favourites! Do you have any of the things I mentioned? What was your blog, book, school and style life like this month - do you have any favourites? xx
