Shortlist for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize 2014

In my post A Totally Interesting Article: The Book I'd Give My Ten-Year-Old Self I briefly mentioned the shortlist for the 2014 Waterstones Children's Book Prize. Well a couple of days ago the shortlist came in and I jumped to their website to see. Unsurprisingly a post I've written, Darcy Burdock by Laura Dockrill, was one of the books in the 5-12 category. Congratulations to all books up there.

Other than Darcy Burdock the books in this category include, The Last Wild by Piers Torday, Shiverton Hall by Emerald Fennell and The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chinani. Yesterday I went to the library to try and find some of these books as they are obviously good. I found Shiverton Hall and it sounds really scary which sounds perfect for me - on the blurb of the book it says A chilling, spooky tale that will have you reaching to turn the light back on...

I cannot wait to find out the winners on Thursday 3rd of April.
