The No Backspace Writing Challenge

Holaaa Lexicans! Today I've decided to come up with a new writing challenge that I, and hopefully some of you, will try out. This challenge almost certainly is already floating around in the blogosphere, but I've never seen any bloggers try it on their blog, so I'm going to introduce it to our 'circle' of bloggers.

Basically, the challenge is you have to write a story, anything from 100+ words, but the twist is, you cannot use the backspace or 'deleting' bar. This means you may end up with a load of sentences that are wordy, boring, unnecessary and/or grammatically incorrect. (You can change spelling though). However, it's a really good writing exercise and it means you really have to think before you type. I'm now going to try it, but I haven't even thought of an idea, so it's very much improvisation (not to forget, obviously I can't delete things).

Everywhere you go the idea of perfection follows you around. You are perfect and beautiful and loved and wanted and a true angel. However, you wanted to be here - nobody does but now you are here, the true meaning of life - or death more like is apparent. Everything happens for a reason, you shouldn't ever have regrets. Yet you do. Suicide is never necessary, and you could still be living your life on earth right now.

Today you came back home from a terrible day. The It Girls teased you again about your weight, even though you'd lost two stone in a month. Not eating felt great, until the It Girls found another way to make it offensive. But today it cut deeper than just the weight, like a sharp knife cutting into your skin. They made fun of your little sister, laughing about her Down's Syndrome. But worst of all, they made bitter comments about your mum 'The epic idiot who had no life, even when she was living. I bet she's glad she was half-blind and got hit by that bus - she doesn't have to deal with you anymore'.

So you carried on starving yourself, and you cut off juice as well. Living on nothing but water.

I hope you enjoyed that. Not using the backspace was hard, and I caught myself in the act once or twice, but overall I managed. Also, that story got quite deep wow, I hope this didn't go to close to home for any of you.

1. I probably talk more than I sleep. No seriously, that is probably true. I love to talk!!!!
2. I don't normally obsess over celebrities but I adore Peyton List so so so much!
3. I adore writing so much, I love writing stories but excluding schoolwork I have never actually finished a proper story.

5. I hate both science and maths but am good at them!
6. I have two sides to me, a girly-girly make-up side and a climbing tress, rough tomboy side.

1. How tall are you?
Probably about 1 metre 35 centimetres.

2. Do you have a hidden talent? If so what?
Fencing (yes seriously)!

3. What's your biggest blog-related pet peeve?
People who quit on their old blog and make another one.

4. What's your biggest non-blog related pet peeve?
Don't laugh, people who call America country - yes it's the biggest one I could think of!!!

5. What's your favourite song?
Any song by Taylor Swift, (Shake It Off and Blank Space most of all)

6. What's your favourite Etsy shop that isn't yours?
I have no clue what an Etsy shop is - though I think it's a shop!

7. What's your favourite way to spend your free time when you're alone?
Watch TV, bake, dance, blog and sing; because I can only sing on my own, I don't want to burst any eardrums! And not all at the same time - imagine!

8. What's your favourite junk food?
Most pizzas - especially Domino's, with their cookies too.

9. Do you have a pet or pets?
Um no. Thanks Mum (we are considering getting a tortoise though).

10. What are your number 1 favourite fiction and no-fiction books?
A Year Without Autumn and The Awesome Book of Awesomeness (review coming soon).

Lipstick!

12. When were you last embarrassed? What happened?
I really can't think of this, swear. Well probably when my brother screamed all the way to school. Yesterday.

13. If you could only drink one beverage for the rest of your life (besides water) what would it be?
Wow this is hard because I only like water. I think it would have to be smoothies though.

14. What's your favourite movie?
I'm not a big movie fan but Mr Peabody and Sherman.

15. What were you in high school, jock, prep, prom queen, cheerleader, nerd, valedictorian etc.
I'm not even in high school yet, I am still in my last year of primary school. I'll probably be prep/geek/valedictorian/cheerleader.

16. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
New York or London - I'm a true city girl.

18. Last romantic gesture from crush, date, boyfriend, girlfriend?
Oh I'm not the romantic kind, I can only think of my ex holding my hands.
