Out Of My Comfort Zone Winter Clothing Wishlist

Hey!! Can you believe it's DECEMBER?!! I'm so so so excited for Christmas; it's come around so fast:) As the seasons are changing, and we have lots of celebrations coming up (Christmas, NYE, Boxing Day etc), my wardrobe also needs a switch-up to suit the cold weather. So, I have compiled a Winter Clothing Wishlist filled with jackets, jumpers, skirts and more to fit with the winter months. However this isn't just a normal wishlist as all the things I'm including are very out of my comfort zone, and I'd be scared to try them. Whilst I love all the clothing featured, for whatever reason, I'm unlikely to be buying them any time soon!

UO Cable Knit Chenille Jumper in Blue

I'm obsessed with UO at the moment; all their stuff is pretty pricey (this jacket is £46, so I won't be buying it any time soon!!), but it's all so nice:) I love the deep blue shade this jumper comes in, it's a little different to the usual burgundy, nude or grey sweater in my wardrobe, and I think it would be really fun to style. I also love this cable knit style which is quite trendy at the mo:)

UO Orange Contrast Lined Pillow Puffer Jacket in Orange

Puffer jackets aren't exactly a new trend, but I still don't own a coat in that style, even though I love them. Again, I'd love to get this in the orange (which is pretty out-there for me), as I'm really trying to step out of my comfort zone regarding my fashion now, and the orange looks really cool (I can imagine with a black turtleneck and skinny jeans). It's on sale at the moment for £42 (originally £76), so it's a good discount, but still expensive!

I think plaid is a really cool pattern, but I always feel like I'll look like a cowboy if it wear it, so I tend to stay away, but this skirt looks really cute and flattering. It's very wintery and autumnal, but it would also work in the summery months, so I might try this on when I next visit Brandy Melville.

This is a beautiful satin jumpsuit but I feel like it would be really hard to pull off (particularly as the colour may wash out my very pale skin). And I feel like it's the kinda thing that would suit a trendy 20-something year old, not a 14 year old! Also, I find that PLT clothing isn't always the best quality (I send 90% of the things I buy from there back... just me?!), however this is only £30 which for a nice, glamorous outfit is pretty good! I'm currently looking for the perfect outfit for me to wear to brunch on Boxing Day, and this could work!

This is definitely more out-there for a fluffy jumper, but I think it would look really cute with jeans and ankle boots. However it is £79, so I will not be getting it any time soon haha!!

I'm very much a skinny jeans kinda gal; I only have one pair of bottoms that aren't jeans!! However, I love that one pair and really want to buy a few more. Yellow isn't really my colour, however it's still super pretty and I think it looks really cool with the black. I can see a couple of my 'edgier' friends wearing this, but I feel like it would make me look like I was just wearing my PJs.


SO... there's my wishlist of things I'd love, but are very much out of my comfort zone and I will probably not be buying anytime soon!! Trying Out Fashion Trends I've Always Been Afraid Of...!

Today, I've got a really fun fashion post, that I'm super excited about... Trying Out Fashion Trends + Styles I've Always Been Afraid To Wear. Recently, I was scrolling through Insta and saw a girl wearing (and very much pulling off!!) denim on denim. That had always been a trend I was scared to try, as I was pretty sure I would just look weird! But then I realised what a negative mindset that was... it suited her, why not try it on me?! So in this blog post, I'm trying out four different fashion styles that are a bit controversial, and I've always been afraid to try:)) I'm really happy with how a couple of these turned out (although keep reading for one very cringe-worthy outfit!!)

Styling a dress over a t-shirt

This trend is so simple, yet is something I have just never got round to trying out! However, I kept seeing it pop up on my Insta feed and everyone looked so cuteee. So, when planning for this post, I knew I had to try this trend out, it's intrigued me for a while, but I've never got round to wearing it.

This one turned out to be a really cute outfit (I actually posted this look on Insta and got loads of compliments!), and I'm soo happy I tried this out. (If you're wondering, my dress is from a charity shop and the t-shirt was just a PrettyLittleThing one, but you can't see the slogan!)

Denim on denim

This trend is not exactly a new, or unknown one, but still something I've never properly worn. Whenever deciding I was going to wear jeans, my denim jacket was just not an option to also wear, I had never even tried it on before. I have to admit, I kind of cheated with this one (!) as my jeans were very washed out and faded, so it didn't really look like denim on denim in the photo!!

So whilst I kind of failed with this trend as you can't see the dark typical denim colour in my jeans (!), it's not one I would dismiss trying with darker jeans another time (although according to this article I was just reading, wearing all the same colour is one of the double-denim don'ts!)

Pattern clash!
As soon as I picked out the clothing items I was trying out for this style, I knew it was going to look awful! Many pattern clashing looks end up being really cool, however mine was a definite fail - I look like I'm wearing pyjamas haha!

All-black
For a veryyy long time, I have refused to wear all one colour of something (e.g. white tee and white jeans, even if the t-shirt has a pattern on!), because I have always, personally, thought it looked weirdddd !! but then I saw one of my fav Instagrammers (I actually can't remember who, sorry!!) post an all-black outfit, and it looked so cute. Here's my attempt at a cool all-black look:

I actually really like how this OOTD turned out in the photos, it looks really simple but cool. However, in real life, I didn't love how this looked and found the lack of colour made it look dull and uninspiring. I love my outfits to be unique and fun, not boring and black hahah which is why, chances are, I won't be returing to all-black soon (unless it's for a shoot.) * Disclaimer: I'm not saying black-on-black doesn't work for everyone, I've seen loads of people pull it off. But personally, I wasn't a fan of it on me. *

So those are my 4 outfits I've always been afraid of! I've learnt so much from this post and have found a new outfit (dress over tee) which I know I'll be wearing lots more. Just remember, fashion is an art and there are no rules. If you think denim-on-denim is a 'fashion no-no', try it out... you might be surprised. Also, everyone is different. If an outfit looked rubbish on me, but suits you then yay, don't feel like I'm judging or dismissing a whole trend for the last two, I'm just criticising it on me.

The perfect summer wardrobe

Hola Lexicans! As you'll will know, we are finally getting a bit of sunshine and warmth and with only a few days until I break up for the summer holidays, I am definitely getting into the spirit of summer. So, today's post will be a round-up of some of my favourite summery clothes for kids and teens.

I think this dress is absolutely beautiful for an evening dress this summer. I think the blue is a gorgeous colour, and if you want to get even more summery, they do have it in a bright yellow colour too (personally yellow isn't my colour, hence why I included the blue version, but it's definitely even more summery). I also adore the lace addition to the top section; I think lace makes everything look good. Overall I love this dress!

H&M | Top With Fringes | Cerise/Mint | £6.99

I absolutely love this top! I think the pattern is so funky (I actually have leggings with a very similar print which I really like) and the colours make it absolutely perfect for this summer. Also, the fringes at the bottom really remind me of summer too. Overall, I will definitely be making this an addition to my wardrobe for this summer. For £6.99 you can't go wrong!

This is quite a simple top; but vests are absolute summer necessities, whether it be for lazy days around the house, barbecues in the garden, relaxing on the beach or going for a walk. I think the flamingo is so cute, and with a nice pair of shorts, this would be a really pretty outfit for summer days.

These shorts are definitely on the pricier side compared to my other 3 items (if you added the price of the others together, it would be about the same as these shorts alone), however I think Topshop is known for having more expensive items. I absolutely love the bright colours on this and the print is so gorgeous and summery. Sizing wise, Topshop is always hard to work out, however as a slim and small 12 year old I would order a 4, and most of my 12 year old friends would order a 6 - you can take it from there (if you aren't sure what size you'd be, just comment and I'd be happy to work it out for you). Overall, gorgeous if you don't have much of a budget.

Hola Lexicans! I was looking back on my old posts just now and realized I hadn't done a beauty-related post for ages, which surprised me as I love make-up. So today, I just wanted to share my top make-up picks with all of you and give them a mini review. I'm going to be doing _ products, some drugstore and some high-end.

Drugstore side

Seventeen - Instant Glow Shimmer Brick
£4.99

This shimmer brick from Seventeen is absolutely gorgeous, and definitely my favourite drugstore purchase. It contains 4 different colours - 2 highlighters and 2 bronzers which are all really good quality for just £4.99. My past experiences with make-up under £5 have not been very good, but I absolutely LOVED this purchase as if it were high-end. I do have other bronzers now from different brands, but I always find myself coming back to this one. Overall, if you are looking for a drugstore bronzer/highlighter then I would 110% recommend this one.

Maybelline - Lash Sensational Mascara

This mascara was given to me by a friend after she said she didn't like it. It can come out a little clumpy which is particularly noticeable if you have high-end mascaras (like Benefit's They're Real in my case), however, if applied carefully this mascara looks really good, and gives a lot of volume. For a drugstore mascara this is really good and I personally really like it.

Urban Decay - Naked 2 eye shadow palette

If you know your make-up you will almost certainly know the famous Naked palettes by one of my favourite brands Urban Decay. I currently have (and love) Naked 2, but I am also hoping to get Naked 1 soon. Naked 2 contains 12 colours - including a beautiful metallic gold, a gorgeous copper colour, a variety of silvers and some beautiful crease colours. In fact, it has a colour for everything. Unlike most palettes, I get use out of every single colour in Naked 2. If you're looking for a palette like Naked 2 but don't have a budget, many of my friends say In The Buff is a perfect dupe.

Benefit - They're Real mascara

Ah! Can I just start this off by saying this mascara is definitely the BEST mascara I have ever tried. It gives so much length and volume and makes your eyes look so much more open. This barely ever clumps up no matter how much you put on and it just makes your eyelashes so much longer and curlier. I would say if you're looking for a mascara and you don't have a budget, I would recommend this 100%!

Urban Decay - Naked Flushed bronzer, highlighter and blush

My friends got me this for my birthday the other day and I absolutely love it. I already had a mini version of Benefit's Hoola which is an extremely good bronzer and I loved that, so I wasn't sure whether I would use the bronzer in Naked Flushed that much, but actually I think I may like the one in Naked Flushed even more. The highlighter is a gorgeous colour and the blush... Well, the blush is sooo pretty - not too over the top, but not too subtle either; a perfect balance. Overall, this is well worth your money and I love, love, LOVE it!

My favourite make-up choices

Hello my Lexicans! Today's post is featuring my two newest (and favourite) make-up purchases. Now, I respect that at 11 I shouldn't be wearing much make-up, and I'd like to point out that I don't wear the featured products regularly at all, only for occasions, in case you think otherwise!

Kate Moss Rimmel Lipstick 01

Now I could spend a whole post ranting about this lipstick (and I probably will!). It's such a bright and bold colour, as red as lipstick gets! Due to this, I'm not really meant to wear this often at 11 years old, but it is perfect for occasions! It feels great and applies well - absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

I bought it in the colour 01, although there are so many different colours! If you want a red lipstick that makes a statement, I'd buy 01!

Glam Eyes Quad Eyeshadow

A couple of weeks before purchasing this, I bought a nude palette, with 6 different colours for £2.99, and I thought it was too good be true. It was. So when I went back to Boots again, I saw this and straight away fell in love. The colours are perfect for me, particularly the gold on the right! It feels and looks really natural, and enhances your eyes perfectly! <3

I bought it for £7.99, but online there are a lot of deals.


I recommend both these products to anyone who wears make-up! I buy for pale skin and blue eyes, if this helps.

A Little Mini Haul!

As it was my 11th birthday recently, I was lucky enough to get various vouchers, so last weekend we decided to go on a mini shopping spree in our local shopping centre. I got some things I was really pleased with, and wanted to share with you today in a Little Mini Haul!

Baby Lips - make-up of the world.

Hi! So today, I decided to do a blog post on my favourite make-up item, Maybelline's Baby Lips. This is something I haven't done before, so let me know if you like it.

My mum isn't too keen on me wearing make-up, though to be fair, I am only 10. But, Baby Lips lip balm/lipstick, is really good, even for preteens and my parents really approve of it.

I chose the Cherry Me colour, a dark pinky red, as dark colours look best on me, however, like a lip balm, it isn't too showy and doesn't stand out if you don't want it too. (The less coats, the more natural).

Feeling:
This lipstick is really smooth and moisturizing on your lips, and you don't really notice that your wearing it, it's so soft. For people with sensitive lips, this is perfect, and doesn't distract you from what you're doing in the slightest.

Again, this is really smooth to apply. Ines, my younger sister, often has rough lips with cuts on, yet applying Baby Lips is really simple and easy.

Packaging:
Another iconic image of Baby Lips is it's quirky packaging. It isn't just a black or white tube with no colour - each different shade has a different tube in different, bright colours.

Appearance:
Now we come down to the most important part, how it actually looks. And I was really impressed, the colour comes out well, yet it gives an extremely natural look, and it doesn't stand out. So, as I repeat, for parents (like mine) who are not keen on giving their children make-up, then Baby Lips is absolutely perfect. (Sorry, no pictures, they wouldn't work!)

On the other hand, this would be perfect on teenagers and adults as well, especially if the natural look is what you're going for.

Overall this is a definite 5 out of 5 stars product, although I don't have (or need) any other lipsticks, so I can't compare!
