Awarding The Lexie's (over a year later)

Hello everyone! Long-term readers of my blog may have read a blog post I did all the way back in March 2014, (over a year ago!), called Awarding The Lexie's, where I gave an award to the best TV show, book, author and singer. And I decided to redo that today, to compare the changes. So kick your legs back, get a biscuit at the ready and enjoy The Lexie's!

Best kids TV show

Disney Channel's Jessie, hands down! I have this slight HUGE obsession with Disney Channel, and Peyton List (an actress on Jessie)! Unfortunately it is ending, after 4 seasons *cries and cries* *an hour later remembers the good news*. Jessie is getting a spin-off show called Bunk'D - so excited!

Best book ever

A Year Without Autumn by Liz Kessler! This was my 2nd favourite book in the first Awarding The Lexie's, so hasn't changed much there! (If you are a 9+ girl, read it!!!!!) AYWA is so moving, touching and genuine magic!

Honestly, I truly cannot describe it. Seriously, seriously, seriously - read it!

Best author

Oooh. Hmmm. Um.

Probably Malorie Blackman, as her books are interesting, gripping and thought-provoking - especially Pig-Heart Boy and Noughts And Crosses.

Best singer

This hasn't changed, and it never will. Taylor Swift. Nothing more to be said! *fangirls and swoons*

Best blog

This is pretty much impossible to answer. There are so many of you AMAZING bloggers out there. I'd say my favourites are the 20 I follow. I am not going to list them all, just pick out a few, but if you aren't mentioned, you still may be followed!

- Impossible
- Miss Internet
- Dancing In The Moonlight
- Amelia Grace
- A Little Bit Of Sunshine
- The Ups And Downs Of My Not-So Average Life
- Little Moon Dragon
- Life As A Young Lady
- Star Girl Productions

(in no particular order)

I hope you enjoyed this post - and are looking forward to a blogtastic summer! Let me know if you'd like to see me do a summer photography post soon?!?!

And my wish list...

At the moment, they're are lots of different books, clothes, DVDs, apps etc. that I want to get. So today's post is a little wish list! Enjoy!

- Divergent
Yes, I call myself a bookworm. Yes, I haven't read Divergent! Don't kill me! *attempts, but fails, to hide guilty face*. But I have heard SO much praise for this book, and I keep meaning to get it, but I haven't got round to it. And yes, I know, I just need it!

- Girl Missing
14 year old Lauren has always known herself as adopted. So when she starts a Who Am I? study in class, Lauren realizes that she doesn't know her true background. And searching on a website, she finds herself - and it said she went missing; 2 months before her adoption...

My best friend recommended this book to me, and it sounds WOW! So I need to get it!

- Uglies (or) Pretties
This dystopian series, recommended for fans of The Selection, sounds intriguing, and a little different. I read about in in the Book People catalogue, and now I'm desperate to get it!

Little Miss Understood, starring ME!

Some of you may know that in my spare time I do various tasks for The (AMAZING) Pineapple Lounge, a research company. Recently they have been looking a lot into the brains of tweens, and currently they are working on Little Miss Understood, a project which reaches out to brands (from the help of us girls) and showing what girls are really like, as we get more an more misunderstood by brands and companies!

And, they asked me to film a short clip with them to show at the Children's Media Conference, and I said 'yes' straight away - especially since girl power and equality is really important to me!

We had 3 BRILLIANT people come round (Lorna, the director, Ben and Darren)! We got filming right away, starting with the voiceover! They had prepared a script, but I tweaked it so it fit ME!

Then we went up to my room to start filming the different shots. Okay, so I'm not a person who can hold a straight face for long. No. Not at all! But they completely understood (although they still were making me laugh in the middle of a shot)! We only took 10 or 11 different shots, yet it must have taken us 2 hours (99% of which we were probably laughing and mucking around)!

Between the filming we had so much fun eating dolly mixture, playing on the trampoline and just chatting and having fun! They were all amazing, and they understood me really well, so we got on just fine!

And I just got a look at how the video turned out, and I L-OVE-D it!!!!! The editing was amazing, and the video really sums up me!

And there is the finished Little Miss Understood video from The Pineapple Lounge!

Enjoy!

What are your opinions on the way girls are portrayed?
