Hola Lexicans! As you will have guessed from the title, today's post is why I didn't finish Insurgent, the sequel to award-winning Divergent. Now, as my blog name suggests (What Lexie LOVES) I try to keep negative reviews to a minimum, but after reading and reviewing Divergent, which I did enjoy, as you do I went to start reading the sequel.
However, I was disappointed...
Insurgent just didn't capture me at all, although I have to admit it was the same with Divergent, and that turned out quite good, so I carried on. Normally by at least halfway I will then be very into a book, even if I'm not enjoying a book, but when reading Insurgent I got easily distracted.
AND OH MY GOSHHH TRIS & FOUR MY OTP JUST..... *breathes* AREN'T GETTING ALONG THAT WELLLL
Also I'm not really a big fan of adventure and action anyway, but I found this really hard to follow and rather boring in some places. I wasn't feeling the characters enough at all and just wasn't intruiged.
So I stopped.....
AAAAH SO EXCITED FOR CHRISTMAS OMD, and can't wait to go see Elf in the theatre <33
xxx
I'm quite exited for Christmas too.
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem with the series. I also couldn't focus on the story because there were so many characters, I spent all my time keeping them apart instead of reading about a creepy future :P
